Placer avenged their first round loss to the Mustangs with a 16 point win at home to improve to 7-1 in league and thanks to a 6 point Foothill win at Center the Hillman now stand alone in first place in the PVL with Foothill and Center both at 6-2 and tied for second. The HIllmen got of to a great start with a 24-10 first quarter and maintained their lead for the rest of the game. Placer was led in the first quarter with Lillis 10 points, Ferreira with 6 and Huntsberry with 8.
Placer was led by JJeremy Lillis with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Huntsberry with another strong outing had 20 points and dished out 5 assists. Jordan Ferreira had 16 points, 9 rebouns and 3 steals for Placer. Vernon Robertson led all scorers with 23 points for the Mustangs.
Placer improves to 22-3 on the year and play for the PVL championship on Friday at home vs Center.
