Placer JV battled tough this afternoon against a very athletic and talented Center Courgar team 64-44 to win the San Juan Tournament for the second time in 2 years. Placer JV led by only 28-25 at the half but had a huge 2nd half to blow it open. Kaden Baroni, Cowen Meyer and Zach Jenkins

Placer JV boys basketball defeated a very athletic Foothill squad 50-47 to reach the finals of the San Juan Tourney for the 2nd straight year. The Hillmen defeated Sutter in a thriller last year. Max Petrenko scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds along with Myles Meyer who scored 16 points and added 5 assists and 5 steals to pace the 4-4 Hillmen into the consolation championship game Saturday at Rosemont. The Hillmen’s inability to take care of the ball showed its ugly self again as the young Hillmen gave the ball away 31 times in route to a 67-55 loss to Cordova. Hillmen play their best game of the young season with a huge 80-67 over the Shasta Wolves to earn 3rd place hardware.
