Placer High basketball standout Jeremy Lillis isn’t going far to continue his playing career.
Last Wednesday, Lillis signed a letter of intent to play at Sonoma State.
“I’m really excited,” Lillis said. “One of the reasons I choose Somona State was it was fairly close to home, and I got a real good feeling from the players and coach when I visited,” Lillis said.
Lillis averaged nearly 20 points, seven and a half rebounds, two blocks and almost two steals per game last season in leading the Hillmen to a 26-5 overall record and a run to the second round of the CIF State Div. III playoffs.
Lillis was a three-year varsity player for Placer, winning at least a share of the Pioneer Valley League title all three seasons; the Hillmen went 28-2 in the PVL over those three years.
“It’s a great school for Jeremy,” Placer coach Mark Lee said. “He had a good visit talking to the coaches and the other players, and I think it is going to be a perfect fit for him.”
