The Hillmen’s inability to take care of the ball showed its ugly self again as the young Hillmen gave the ball away 31 times in route to a 67-55 loss to Cordova. Placer struggled to play catch which led to Cordova scoring 21 points of Hillmen turnovers. Placer also struggled to stop the Lancers penetration into the paint as the Cordova scored 22 points in the key. Placer was led by Junior, Max Petreno, who led all scorers with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Isaiah Chenalt put in 13 points and had 3 steals for the HIllmen. Jackson Lee also shipped in with 9 points, 3 assist, and 3 steals. The hillmen shot just 43% on 22 -51 shooting and also were only 10-18 from the line. Cordova’sIsaiah Bolden had a great night with 19 points, 5 reb, 10 assists and 5 steals to pace the Lancers.
Placer’s overall record drops to 3-4 on the season. The Hillmen face Rosemont at 4:30 today in the consolation bracket of the tourney.
