Boys Basketball · Petrenko and Meyer lead Hillmen over Rosemont 66-45

Max Petrenko scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds along with Myles Meyer who scored 16 points and added 5 assists and 5 steals to pace the 4-4 Hillmen into the consolation championship game Saturday at Rosemont. Placer got out to a 22-9 1st quarter and never looked back. Petrenko and Meyer got it started as they combined for 14 of Placers first quarter scoring. Caden Lichau also added 5 rebounds, 4 points and 4 assists. Junior Anson Aroz contributed 5 rebounds and 4 steals to pace Placer. The Hillmen cut down on their turnovers and took care of the ball much better vs the Wolverines. Placer shared the ball tonight as they combined for a season high 20 assists on the night. Hillmen face either Vacaville or UPrep on Saturday at 1:00.
Placer will get a much needed 3 days of practice next week before traveling to Dublin to play in the Don Nelson Classic at Dublin High School. They then return home after Christmas to host the 78th Kendall Arnett tounrey.
