Del Campo got off to a great start as Teo Codar scored 8 of 14 in the first quarter as Del Campo led 19-8. The Courgars of Foothill did not waiver as they made a huge run of their own in the second as they moved the ball and hit open jumpers and held Del Campo to just one field goal and a total of 7 points in the second quarter. Foothil Hunter Edwards hit a jumper at the buzzer to bring Foothill to within one at 26-25. To start the second half Foothill scored to take the lead at 30-29 on a McCracken jumper and a Edwards 3 pointer, but then leading scorer for Foothill, Luke Lindsey went down with a pulled groin and missed the rest of the game. Del Campo increased their lead to 4 on Damjan Agovic’s 3 offensive putbacks to help Del Campo lead it after three quarters 42-38. The 4th started out well for Del Campo with Coder scoring back to back jumpers to start the 8-2 run to increase the Cougar lead to 10 at 50-40. Foothill never came any closer as Del Campo went 8-8 from the FT line and outscored Foothill 25-13 in the final stansa to pull away for good. Final score Del Campo 67-52. Del Campo was led by Codar with 14, Cameron Niles with 15. Foothill was led by Lewis Bekdoo with 17 and Hunter Edwards with 13. Del Campo plays on Friday at 6:30PM and Foothill will play at 3:30 in the consolation bracket.
